Our 10-Year Workmanship Warranty
Before getting into manufacturer warranties, this is worth understanding: our workmanship warranty is separate from GAF’s or CertainTeed’s coverage and comes standard on every roof replacement we complete.
It covers any issue caused by how the roof was installed — not the materials themselves. If flashing fails because it wasn’t sealed properly, if shingles lift because of incorrect nailing, or if a leak develops at a transition point, our warranty covers the cost to come back and fix it. No deductible, no runaround.

GAF is North America’s largest roofing manufacturer, and their warranty program is tiered based on the contractor’s certification level and how many GAF accessories are installed as part of the system. Here’s what each level covers and what it means for your roof.
GAF System Plus Limited
The System Plus warranty is the entry-level enhanced warranty from GAF. It goes well beyond the basic shingle warranty most homeowners receive when their roof is installed by a non-certified contractor.
GAF Silver Pledge Limited
The Silver Pledge builds on everything in the System Plus and adds two important protections that matter when something actually goes wrong.
GAF Golden Pledge Limited
The Golden Pledge is GAF’s highest warranty tier. It includes everything in the Silver Pledge but extends the workmanship coverage dramatically — which is the single most important upgrade.
What Voids Your Roofing Warranty?
This is important — even the best warranty won’t help if it’s been voided. Here are the most common things that can invalidate your coverage:
Enhanced warranties (Silver Pledge, Golden Pledge, 5-Star) require installation by a GAF certified contractor. If a handyman or uncertified roofer does the work, you lose access to these programs entirely.
GAF requires proper attic ventilation as part of a qualifying roofing system. Poor ventilation causes heat buildup that ages shingles prematurely — and manufacturers can deny claims if ventilation doesn't meet their standards. We assess ventilation on every roof inspection and address it as part of the replacement.
If someone other than a certified contractor modifies the roof after installation — adding a satellite dish mount, cutting in a skylight, or patching a section with non-matching materials — it can void the warranty on the affected area.
Warranties don't cover problems caused by neglect. Clogged gutters that cause water to back up under shingles, moss growth left untreated, or debris buildup in valleys — these are maintenance issues, not defects.
This is a common mistake. Pressure washing shingles strips the protective granules and will void your warranty. If your roof needs cleaning, it should be done with a low-pressure chemical treatment only.
